Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub - American actress, comedian and activist Her parents were Jewish parents from the Soviet Union and started her career as a child actor after she moved to the United States. Her appearances as Lily Adams in AT&T TV commercials from 2013 until 2016 - and from 2020 on - earned her acclaim. She was also a regular series regular on the Yahoo! Screen science-fiction comedy Other Space (2015). She also had a recurring role as a character on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016)-2017. Vayntrub was originally selected to voice the character Squirrel Girls in Marvel Rising's pilot that was never aired for New Warriors in 2018, has been voiced that role since. Vayntrub was Jewish and born in Tashkent in the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic. Her parents, who were just two years old, emigrated to America to escape antisemitism. They settled in West Hollywood. At the age of five, she began appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials. This was in part due to the economic hardships in her family. Vayntrub briefly attended Beverly Hills High School. In her sophomore year she dropped out and earned a GED. She went on to get the Bachelor of Arts Communication degree from the University of California San Diego. She was a part of the Upright Citizens Brigade, and studied improv comedy.
